Update! - Winner Announcement!
Congratulations to Alex Hong! You are the winner of the first ever Bottom Shelf Contest!
A huge, "Thank you!" to everyone for entering. I enjoyed reading your comments and your questions. Be sure to check back every Monday for a new review or news segment. Also, your questions will be answered in future mailbag articles.
It's giveaway time! Up for grabs is Hanabi, winner of the most prestigious board game prize, the Spiel des Jahres 2013. Hanabi is a cooperative game for up to 5 players about creating the most dazzling fireworks display possible. The twist is that you can't see your own cards and have to rely on information from others to make the right move.
Entry is simple. No need to follow us on Twiter or like our Facebook page or circle us on Google+ or subscribe via RSS. I have no idea why you wouldn't want to, but it's not necessary to enter. Just do the following:
- Leave a comment below and tell me what game you want to see reviewed in the future or what your current favorite game is. I can't promise to review it, but I can promise to think about it.
- Additionally, submit a question to the Mailbag. Any question will do. Just keep it PG and make sure to use the same name you used in the comments otherwise you won't be entered. Also make sure to submit your email address or Twitter handle so that I can contact you if you win.
All entries must be submitted by the June 27th, 2014 3 p.m. PST. The winner will be announced shortly after. Unfortunately, the winners will be limited to those in the contiguous 48 United States. Sorry about that! Shipping is expensive and board games don't just grow on trees. Well, they kind of do, but that's besides the point. I'll try to have more inclusive contests in the future.
Good luck everyone and I look forward to reading your questions!
